procrastination

I wanna write a film that this fits into.
That isn't sickly. And the actors will be imperfect looking and the characters insightful, amazing and very well read.

Its a freezing cold December evening. A girl and boy (about 20 years old) leave a coffee shop in a busy street and they walk home. Camera follows them they don't speak Bright eyes is playing (or maybe the maccabees) plays over but is interrupted by sounds of traffic and conversation from passers by.

Girl " I know a short cut here actually.."
Boy "Ok yeah, lead the way"

45 minutes later

Boy "Is it me or did that seem to take a while?

Big pause
Girl "You make me want to take the long way home INSERT NICE NAME HERE"

No, I wouldn't call it Love Actually 2, probably more like 'It won't last' or something.

Zane's show on Radio One with a big thing about the Killers.
Really good, got me thinking.

Isn't it strange how bands are formed by a few people who happened to live in the same area at the same time...A guitarist from the Killers was like a mistake..his brother is 15 years older than him, its like imagine if he had never have been made, because a band like the Killers always influence people, even if its just their mood because that has an affect on what they do and achieve. They would sound totally different if one member was someone else.

And I bet his parents got influenced by a romantic song that night they umm well...you know the story. Anyway I hope all Killers fans were listening to that show.
I think their new stuff is awesome but the old is a bit cringe now.

The Hold Steady

Portsmouth Wedgewood Rooms
14.12.08
This charismatic rock cluster filled the stage with excitable and youthful movement and the air with their up beat, excellently crafted music, leaving a room laced with smiles. The audience came in all their shapes and sizes, and danced along to most of the recent album venture "Stay Positive", setting the night off with the title track and with highlights being the emotive 'Constructive Summer' and the awesome 'Sequestered in Memphis" which just asks for a sing along. But I like their old stuff I hear you cry?!! Well, there was definitely a few appearances from 'Seperation Sunday', and 'Boys and Girls in America'. With an alluring encore acoustic rendition from 'Almost Killed Me' not to be forgotten.
The Hold Steady offer so much to their audience in every show, and have a distinctively warm, fresh and electrifying animation which is lost on so many bands these days. I tagged along with my Dad after thinking the album wasn't really my bottle of bud, but now I think the Hold Steady are one of the best live bands I've shared space with.
Go and see this band!

Survivors

Great stuff!-acting a bit shabby in parts though maybe?

Firstly, where would we be without BBC iplayer? That is greatly ironic if linked to what I am about to express about the issues this show raised for me.
I think survivors makes a great point about world development, and how when we rely more and more on technologies we become further away from what we really need to survive. Life has got so complex, the infrastructure of cities and towns completely drives our lives, no matter if we gain, or suffer from it.
With over 90% of the population dead, rules don't exist because there is no one there to enforce them, but the morals still exist in the hearts and minds of the survivors. They still feel guilty stealing the food from people's houses even though they have died and can't eat it themselves. Well except for the criminal. I think its great to question the urbanisation of Britain. It was especially interesting to show the government lying to the public about the full severity of the situation to prevent panic, and interesting that the BBC would show the government and the authorities in this light.
The survivors constant need to go and collect unsustainable supplies through fear of them all being taken first, forces them to treat it like a  job, as their former professions are now meaningless. People need a purpose. They even all the hints at controversy out nicely though with all the anti-terrorism ideologies lurking around every corner. Also the fact that they are aware that the supplies of preserved items will run out, but still rely on it could be a metaphor for the fuel shortages in the real world today.
There is so much in this about human nature, and the right and wrong way to act in this scale of barbarity. Anyone agree with all this..or am I just rambling? hehe

To conclude....
I'm loving Al, very dishy.
I think the girl Kate was excellent.
She was right when she said "there is more to life than breathing."
The lead woman has the same name as me! wicked.
I just hope it doesn't get too Lost-ish !

The Duchess

I wrote this ages ago, and its not even in cinemas anymore but thought I'd post it..hehe !

The Duchess

.....And then the cast belted out another chorus of Ne-Yo’s recent chart topper “Miss Independent”. I’m afraid my jokes are not for the faint of hearted, and I end my sarcasm there as neither is this film. It is a story filled with the bleakness of eighteenth century oppression, and the most timeless heartbreak.

Our Duchess, played exquisitely by the English rose Keira Knightley, leads us through her moments of the most intoxicating ecstasy, and catastrophic agony. Based on a true story it tugs hard at the heart strings as the lace of a rib crushing corset, and deals with the suffocating barriers of female virtue and aristocratic duty.

The Duchess is not to be missed, grace the picture house now and show how the most admired woman in all of England, incessantly surrounded by people can also be the loneliest.

So....I'm new to blogging !
I don't really know how it works...if a lovely person would chat to me about it,  that would be ...well...lovely. I think the main reason for starting a blog is the massive amount of coursework I've got on, and this seemed like a more worth while form of procrastination than just surfing the net, or writing random poems or paragraphs and saving them to a tiny file on my laptop.

Some of the things I post probably won't make any sense, and will seem really random.
I don't always know why I write things, it just seems like the only thing to do sometimes.
Keeps me off the streets anyway

So yeah, let the blogging commence !!!

Sitting Still

All this talk of roundabouts,
has got me running laps.
All the pick ups and let downs,
have really got me thinking.

All these midnight whispers,
the sprinting and the panting,
are taking us for granted
and they have really got me thinking.

All this talk of perfect,
has got me feeling weak.
All this laughter about torment,
has got me over-thinking.

All this talk of tea time,
has got me sitting still.
All this talk of you has to stop,
Its really got me thinking.
